English Aviation Certificate

The English Aviation ESL program at CCE provides language training for international or local students who desire to become pilots, air traffic controllers, or aviation technologists. The main purpose of the program is to help students improve their proficiency in English so that they understand the terminology and language of modern aviation. The program covers all language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking). The components for vocabulary, pronunciation and comprehension of technical documents are designed to fulfill the specific needs of students. The course places great emphasis on direct communication skills (speaking and listening).
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requires that all Air Traffic Controllers and Flight Crew Members engaged in contact with international flights, be proficient in English.
To the best of our knowledge, all air traffic controllers communicate in English, except in rare cases such as Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, where there may be communication in French.
Upon successful completion of CCE's English Aviation ESL program, students will be able to communicate fluently in English. They will get a solid foundation in each the following components: pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and interaction (response immediate).
English Aviation students who desire to communicate in French are encouraged to enroll in French courses at CCE.
